The Prayer Book of Belial

Posted in Publications, The Path of Flames with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on December 15, 2016 by Sypheara

So, it was a long time coming, but my good friend Atilla Kabak has finally managed to finish an important work.  This book, titled the ‘The Prayer Book of Belial’,  was written in possession with the Lord of Lords across many months. Atilla originally got in contact with me through this blog, and it quickly became apparent that Belial had many things in store for him.. this book just part of the gnosis that Belial wants returned to the realm of man.

As such, i’m going to launch into this for those who are interested in works on this current, and thus must make clear that therefore I am not an unbiased source. That said I believe this book is an important addition to the current for reasons I am about to lay out.

The exterior of the hardcover copy of the book is a simple, sparse black casewrap without any adornment, or other artistic work or embellishment. This belies the dense, revelationary text that is held within its 164 pages.

The aim of the book is also deceptively simple: to bring the reader into direct contact with Belial and open up his gates within their soul and flesh.  Through the introductory sections of, ‘on inner path’,  ‘on prayers’, ‘on visions’, ‘on rites’, and on ‘on healing and curses’ the author lays out succinctly and without embellishment or trappings the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of the path and how therefore the book can be successfully worked. In addition,  in the follow-up section’ a simple guide’, the author offers up information for absolute beginners of following his simple, instinct led approach.  Finally, the author details how the book was received in no less than four separate languages from Belial, and how it required significant translation to be understandable and decoded from the original ‘stream of consciousness’ which occurs during possession.

After this, the author begins the meat of the text – the Four Sets of Twenty Prayers / Devotionals dedicated to the Lord of Lords.  Each prayer opens a particular gate or set of gates within the soul, thus marking it as one of Belials own kin. The particular method for each set and prayer varies, but a general theme runs throughout each section. Each section is dominated by a particular seal, which encapsulates its powers. These prayers may be accompanied with the use of physical tools as part of trans-formative rites. From my reading of this book, as well as experiencing its activated power, I give now my best, entirely personal summation.

The Call – This section is extremely initiatic, laying the ground work for further empowerment through the opening of seven sealed gates within the soul. A further nine gates are then opened through the use of Belials stones before it is seated and sealed with the prayers of the ‘Summonings To Soul and Body’ and ‘The Oath of Communion’, which unlocks the second path.

The seal of The Call is that of the red gem of Belial, dripping in blood, suspended above the flames.

The Communion – This section is the foundation of the bones of the work, as he or she who walks the path further explores and lays further foundations on what was released during The Call. Belial here seats himself into the very flesh, in return for the pacts made to him.

The seal of The Communion is the opposed phases of the moon, linked together via the ways of Belial. Above this, his eternal flame sparks and burns.

In Flames – This section sees the bones enfleshed by the aforementioned and foreshadowed burning fires of Belial. Through the works mentioned here with a special pentagram, both physical tool and spiritual self are ignited in the most literal of manners. The author in private correspondence detailed how this pentagram literally would physically ignite during this phase of development.  Here, the capabilities of the devotee for working with Belial and the Gods are greatly enhanced. Here, in this magickal transformation work is also carried out on the world soul itself as alongside the blessings, curses are delivered at those who would despoil the World Soul, and Belials flesh.

The seal of In Flames are six serpents, writhing forth from a coiling mass of flame and flesh, showing the emanation of power.

The Path – This final section is the seal upon the whole work. The practitioner demonstrates here the lessons learnt on the path, and completes the seating of the blessings and curses within the self through the prayers of the seven deaths and rebirths. Here any fear melts away, those who have successfully completed the path so far coming into a much deeper understanding and connection with the lord of lords. Through this section, the soul is opened fully to Belial becoming intimately connected with his own beyond even physical death.

The seal of The Path is that of the widdershins Ouroboros that encircles Belials pyramid of power.. the three flames symbolising not only the trident but the three thrones of Belial.. that which stands in Ghagiel, that which stands as the hidden throne of the Atlantean Depths, and that which lies at the centre of our own world, The Devils Throne.

These prayers as the reader can see, make this a good book for someone who wishes to assist with their self initiation into this current. It does so not by relying on description but creating and reinforcing a genuine connection. With Belial being vitally important within the Aeon Of Lucifer, and being a much maligned entity despite this, I believe this work is a great way for those devoted souls who wish to encounter him to do so.

It is however, not a work or book I believe suited to general occultists. The pacts are clear in what they offer but also what they demand in return, which is complete soul devotion. Taking from, without offering back, on this path would be ill advised. However someone who wishes to connect firstly and primarily with Belial might be able to take and work with it effectively to learn much about this great witch god.

For those already of the current, this book offers powerful ways of greatly strengthening the subtle bodies and soul, and reveals the creation of unique powerful working tools if the lines are read between effectively. It also adds another powerful means for devotional works.

The only drawback to the book I see is the editing. Due to being a self published book, and the work not being in the native language of the writer, there are numerous errors in parts of the texts beginning sections. Whilst the difficulty in translating the calls in possession is easily understood, I believe that the beginning sections could have benefited from an additional editing pass. However given the immense value of the work on hand, I believe these can be easily overlooked. The words and sigils here contain real spirit and power. It is also understandable that Atilla wanted to stay clear of the somewhat shark infested waters of modern day occult publishers, where the waters can sometimes be muddy.

The book is far as I am aware, not in limited order – it’s only limit being the obviously small number of people who will wish to work with such demanding material. The book can be purchased from Lulu or Amazon, at the following links:

The work itself does not come pre-consecrated as a gateway. From receiving it, part of me believes this is for a good reason.

As such, I offer a simple way to those who receive it that was given in intuition by Belial to me to self consecrate it. First, the book is to be opened. The first sigil of the The Call is to be blooded in Belials name, so that the entire gem is inflamed in red. This is to be followed by blooding the last sigil of the The Path in Belials name, covering the flames and the tip of the pyramid. A prepared sigil of Belial on paper coated with a dried, liquid libation, is to be blooded and placed face up on the front of the closed book. Atop this, a consecrated candle holder is to be placed. A candle, blessed in  Belials name is placed upon the top of the sigil and book and is lit. Once the candle has burned down, the book is activated via the Pact of the Devoted Blood. The candle, before being burned can also optionally be strengthened by being dressed in patchouli oil, and Belials name and sigil being carved into its sides.

On this note, further work with the book can be carried out – I would thoroughly recommend that each prayer working the sigil below the prayer is adequately blooded. Thus, the book itself becomes a powerful living tool through which Belial can be called forth and communed with.

I hope this has been an interesting look at this release. It is certainly an exciting time within the current as more is brought forth, by the Gods and their devotees. Going forward on a side note, I hope to improve the quality of camera images as my current set up is very inadequate. This however takes a second seat to my current project, which is working and preparing the bones here of one of the deceased familiars.

Ave Hecate,

Blessings and Curses: Samhain

I would just like to take a small moment to wish everyone who follows the blog and my work a productive and blessed Samhain season.

I love this time of year.. all the way up to the winter solstice the energy is perfect for all sorts of interesting workings. Its great to be able to share these with others, and this years group Samhain rite by a friend of mine was spectacularly well executed. It was very powerful rite, tapping into the ophidian currents to expertly honour the dead.

That said, as regards to my own workings, this years Samhain rite was a little different than expected. It’s been a relatively difficult time here for numerous personal reasons, in regards to both illness and death. All on top of attempting to integrate the gnosis coming through from the awakened gates.

Recently, a horrible occurrence happened that required a powerful protective, and malefic rite to rectify the extreme psychological harm brought about to one of my friends family members after they were attacked at knifepoint. So, alongside the usual offerings to the dead at this time of year, the rite was executed on the Sabbat night with this in mind, and was extremely powerful.

Into the body were called Hecate and Belial, as well as the Ivory Spider, to lend their aid and power. This power was directed towards the empowerment and consecration of a malefic and necromantic wand of control, command, and bane using the accumulated venoms of the path thus far.

After this, empowerment and protection was first given to the innocent victims using the existing wand of Lucifer, to ensure they were duly empowered and protected. Afterwords, the new malefic wand was used to impale, envenom, and then blast the malefactors before they were cast out from the circle into the northern quarter into the waiting teeth of Belial and his hosts.

dsc_0364Wand prior to its activation in ritual with associated venoms

The wand was made from a single, dried out branch of holly that was acquired as a present from an earlier working.. an interesting tool that was given at the right time for the right purpose. I am not interested in Malefica in general.. anyone who knows me or who has followed the blog for anytime will have seen the lack of such material here. But this time it felt powerful, necessary, and part of demonstrating the power of the Path from Belial in my direction.

Unfortunately due to the nature of this work involving the specific use of the Ivory Spider and his venom conjoined with Belials, its unfortunately unsuitable to share the exact method of consecration for the wand here. However I detail the above to illustrate the other side of the coin of working with these entities.. the ability to defend oneself and ones friends and family, blood or spiritual, that comes with the territory.

In other news, a certain friend of mine has also recently completed a very interesting book.. a book that relates to possession work with Belial. He has poured an immense amount of time and effort into this text.. I hope to soon grab a copy to illustrate why I think its an important addition, albeit one that comes with a lot of caveats.

Thanks again for reading,

Ave Hecate,

Dreaming Deeply: Spirits in Sleep

Posted in Occultism, Other, The Path of Flames with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on October 7, 2016 by Sypheara

Hello all,

I hope you are having a great start to the beginning of October.. with Samhain rapidly approaching i’m finding myself kicking it up a gear when it comes to preparations for the nights ahead.

However I wanted to post today on something interesting, mainly due to several recent experiences. These have been quite powerful, and useful for my spiritual growth and I feel sharing it could be useful for people.

Many people have experienced powerful, deep dreams that are stark in their lucidity. Many people, in these states, have often met entities of some description, that seem overly familiar as if they have been met before. They often give advice, teaching, or even gifts of power. On waking many people do not remember these encounters, or file them away at the back of their minds as unimportant.

Little do they realise that they might have met with a familiar or guiding spirit in the Oneiric Realms.  I feel this is a great shame as these experiences have a great capacity to bring insight, and healing, to those who experience, remember and integrate them. What follows is some examples of my own experiences and a small method to help cement work with these entities.

My own experience with this form of contact has been varied and extensive, and it is one of the primary ways in which I work. That said, two experiences stand out in my mind as being extremely important, one being a new occurrence, and the other one old.

One of the first experiences I have ever had was meeting a spirit within a dream forest. I can remember the sweet, smell of the cherry blossoms that seemed to glow a subtle, golden white light upon their darkened black twisted stems. A cracked stone path led straight through these trees towards an old, rustic house of an exotic design that defies description in text, as a light breeze seemed to swirl around me. The air was cool, and crisp, and there was hardly any sound as if the whole forest was holding its breath. further away I could see evergreens, interspersed with the cold icy blossom trees, and there was a feeling as if one had stepped into some surrealist picture. Far down the path i could see a figure, abnormally slim and tall, dressed entirely in red. Their eyes possessed a relaxing, warm orange colour, that gave off a feeling of both youth and age all at once. Long, black hair seemed to fall down over the figures shoulders, and it was sat as if relaxing and enjoying this strange, abnormal morning. I felt drawn towards this figure, and approached and welcomed it.

This encounter would be a highly enjoyable one. I talked for many hours with this entity, that who neither at the time give me its name nor identity. But it gave me a lot of advice, advice that would strengthen me for difficulties at that time I was facing in my mundane life. It wouldn’t be the first time I would run into this entity – over many weeks, months and years I have met it again several times.. and only within the last few have I identified it as my primary familiar.

dreamscapeDreamscape by Piofoks

A more recent example occurred several weeks ago. I met an entity in dream, one that at first was challenging, even hostile. This entity appeared with the same, strange dimensions of that of the primary familial, except it was clearly appearing as Female. This entity possessed solid black eyes, ivory skin, and long, snake like hair. Despite her stand offish nature, she radiated a warm, welcoming aura that drew me to persist in asking her assistance. Once I had correctly introduced myself, this entity mellowed and taught me over the course of several days how to internalise some of the energies released by opening Hecates Stellar Gate. In the Waking World, she sent visions that identified her as a spirit that resides in Malkuth/Nehemoth, the spheres that lie closest to our world and merge with it, and that she is associated with the energies of the moon. She seemed in some way linked to Nahemah, something I have still not had clarified. However this work left me feeling refreshed, calmed, as if some of the energy from those difficult workings had finally been integrated. She also made it clear that she had been sent for this task, and was a specific familiar or oneiric spirit that had almost complete mastery of these realms and would therefore be an excellent guardian from some of the more intense, disturbing apocalyptic dreams that are being caused by rising currents from the World Soul.

Looking back on the above, it is not a surprise that these entities that have guarding/teaching roles are more likely to contact us in times of stress, or challenge. They are often specifically sent to aid us on our path, usually after subconsciously being requested. Engaging with them leads to an overall bettering of the situation as we work with them to complete the challenges set before us.

Once contact has been made through chance encounter or after a request to Hecate has been sent in initial work, there is a trick that can help facilitate and grow the connection with your own personal dream familiars and spirits.  Firstly, you will need to acquire the spirits name, sigil or ideally both. Once once is given, the other is usually just a matter of conducting further work with the spirit until both are deemed ready to share.

Take one small piece of paper, or thin piece of wood, and ritually consecrate and prepare it as detailed in earlier workings in the resources section. For paper, this usually involves a libation element, and both are cleansed with consecrated water and incense smoke. Once the material is ready, mark in ink or engrave the name, sigil or ideally both onto one side. The second side, should have the Sigil of the Universal Gateway, as detailed in Queen of Hell and as shown below.

The Universal Sigil of Gateways, as detailed in the book ‘Queen of Hell’

Once completed, a call is given to Hecate  to thank her for assisting the work, and she is asked to open the gateway to her realms for the spirit to come forth during your dreaming phases. As this personal call is spoken, the gateway sigil is blooded. Once done, the sigil and name of the spirit overleaf is also blooded, with an individual call to that spirit to come forth and meet you, work with you and teach you in dream.

Once the above is done, this artefact becomes empowered and a direct conduit to the spirit involved. When sleeping, it should be placed under a pillow, or failing that, the bed in as close a proximity as you as possible to help facilitate its effects. When not in use, in should reside in or around the altar and should be treated as all other empowered items.

This method has been and continues to be an effective, simple way of working with these entities revealed to me. Further offerings of blood increases the effect. This sigil has many interesting properties for devotees who make use of it, and the symbolism inherent within it should be self evident.

I wish everyone a great run up to Samhain, and I hope to have more to share near the end of this month, going into the next.

Ave Hecate,

Creating the Blade of Arte

Posted in The Path of Flames with tags , , , , , , , , , , on August 2, 2016 by Sypheara

I’d just like to first open this post with a thank you to all of you who have liked, and subscribed to the blog over the last month of two, or have personally contacted me with thanks and encouragement. It has unfortunately been too long since the last post on here,  not helped by the fact that in the last six weeks i’ve struggled with being almost unable to use my hands to type, thanks to somehow damaging the nerves in both arms.

Finally after what seems like a much longer period than it should be, the small work on detailing how my own Blade of Arte was constructed is complete.  Keeping going and creating this document to benefit others has kept me going in this time, where they seem to test me in both obvious and subtle ways since the opening of the last two gates.

The completed document can be found at the following link:

Crafting the Blade of Arte

It covers the material requirements for both the blade and the oil used in its consecration, as well as outlining a general, basic ritual approach to its activation. Note I have intentionally left many elements non-specific; the nature of the work means that the practitioner is required to work at an intuitive level to produce a tool that works for them and their practice, in unison with what the Gods require.

Thankfully now that I am recovering slightly, I am now in a position to begin work designing, and commissioning an evocational and protective copper amulet directed at channeling Lucifers energies, as well as the construction of a particular variant of a summoning triangle made from wood. This is all foundational work that needs completing before the opening of Lucifers Stellar Gate on this specific subpath can begin, as they have revealed to me.

Ave Hecate,

Works of Light and Fire: Hecates Gate

Posted in Luciferianism, Occultism, Paganism, The Path of Flames with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 15, 2016 by Sypheara

The last two months, after posting the last update, have been very hectic when it comes to activity. For this, and technical reasons causing several drafts to disappear, has caused me to update less than I intended. However, with it being three years approximately to the inception of the blog, I felt it was important to get out some kind of update as both motivation and to let interested parties know as to how things are going.

That said, I will try and launch straight into the updates. Firstly, and most importantly, Hecates stellar gate has been successful carved, blooded, and opened in ritual releasing unique and important gnosis. This has clarified some longer term goals on my path.

The Stellar Gate itself comprises of two, important sigils, one being her full, revealed and activated stellar eye and that of her own, specific sigil relating to her stellar gate. These were etched into a birch endblock, and inked as described in an earlier posting, accompanied by four, surrounding words of power. These words of power consisted of Hecates name, that of two of her appropriate titles, and the name of the Stellar Toad all written in Theban script.

This prepared block was cleansed with Sandalwood incense and water, and in ritual from within the circle with both sides of the tree opened and Hecate invoked into the flesh, empowered. The exact method for this has to at this time remain secret, but involved a specific way of consecrating the block at six, cardinal directions using a specific vocalised stellar key. It also involved some semi circle breaking work to draw in the powers directly from opened conduits, acting as a lightning flash between direction, block and practitioner.

Once correctly opened, Hecate elevated the level of the possession utilising the power of the gate. The level of the possession became strong, and direct, Hecate assuming an insect like form to merge with my own. At the height of the possession and union, the energy released was explosive revealing knowledge of two, new stellar keys as well as a specific, gate construction. Gnosis was delivered as to the full structure of both the keys, and the gate, alongside some clues as to its intrinsic nature. The nature of this possession was exhausting, draining even, being different to the usual kinds of possession experienced. However the conciousness was expanded, and in the days that followed several blocking elements in the work were removed.

It was at this time that I received my new Athame. I had contacted a smith to create a bespoke blade for Hecates craft, but numerous issues had prevented it from making its way into my hands. After only a few days, I received correspondence to let me know, out the blue that it was on its way. After a brief but slightly eventful delivery, it finally arrived and, through intuitive workings with the Gods, was consecrated.

An example of Damascus Steel. Credit: Ralf Pfeifer

The blade is made from Damascus steel,  and features a curved silver crossguard and the hilt is made of black ebony. Its empowerment was done from within the circle, at the four cardinal directions, with Hecate invoked into the flesh. The hilt was decorated with two, simple sigillic constructions as directed, and the blade was treated with a mix of plant essential oils, one for each element. I hope to in the near  future write a small, descriptive PDF of this process for those who wish to construct a similar blade that is specific to the current of the Trident. This is not to suggest there is an orthodoxy to this process that I feel is likely extremely personal, but hopefully it will offer a springboard for people to base off further ideas.

Lastly but not least, for Beltane celebrations I ran a working dedicated to Lucifer, invoking his stellar and light bearing aspects. This work consisted of two main parts, due to falling several days later than the actual sabbat, on the black moon.

The first part was the opening of a central cauldron of water, to the black moon, in Lucifers name. This cauldron was then used to cleanse, banish and remove malefic ills specific to each individual. Through it Lucifers fire was also drawn, as the height of the black moon ebbed. The new, growing influence of the moon was then used to conduct a group working, petitioning Lucifer to assist and speed up in the healing of the Earth and the rebalance of its world soul via awakening the souls of man.

The Altar after specific, personal items had been removed. Thanks to the photographer on the day.

Central to the work were two, temporary sigillic gates initially opened in a preliminary work on the Sabbat rite. These were created via automatic writing in possession with Lucifer, and were created as exoteric seals to channel the solar and stellar energies. The first was a variation of his primary sigil, oozing the energies of his lightning flash, and the second was a variant on Hecates Sabbatic Eye infused with his solar energies. The first was used as a primary conduit as part of the altar work, the second the seating sigil for the large, brass cauldron. Added to the cauldron was a mix of plant essential oils, salt, and a exceptional offering gifted by one member of the group. This offering took the form of a triskele created from copper. This was activated, and used to seat additional energies within the cauldron itself.

I felt the working went very well, the energies being correctly channelled and applied, and this was echoed in the feedback from the group. It is always a pleasure to be able to share what an be shared of the craft and introduce others to these entities in their true forms, especially when it comes to a much maligned entity such as Lucifer that is covered with many masks.

Finally but in no means least, The Rite of Her Sacred fires will be being held on the full moon of May. This rite is open to any who wish to participate, and is partaken in by many devotees of Hecate since its inception in 2010 by Sorita d’Este.  I have performed the rite as prescribed in the past, and it was always an enjoyable and beautiful experience. This year, I will be participating in my own way by incorporating it into wa orking with Hecates opened gate. I encourage all others who have a connection or calling with her to give it a shot. More information about the rite, as well as a much better writeup, can be found at the Covenant of Hecates website by clicking the image below.

The Rite of Her Sacred Fires (Sorita d’Este)

I hope you have had a fantastic May so far, and hope that it brings many opportunities in the craft to come.

Ave Hecate,

Finding the Masculine in Goddess’ Spiral

Posted in Luciferianism, Paganism, Publications, The Path of Flames with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 28, 2016 by Sypheara

It’s been a long time coming, but all the hurdles have now been overcome. The anthology I mentioned contributing to has finally been published, making its way into print on the 10th of February. I waited upon receiving a copy of the anthology before making this post,  in the main due to not having received a full copy of the work electronically prior to its publication. I wanted to see how the work was framed, as well as what other contributions had been made to the text.

I can say on the whole, I’ve been pleasantly surprised. There are many powerful testaments within the book to the power of the Goddess, in whatever form she decides to take.  Many of the authors offer a powerful and different perspective of how she works within their lives. Hecate appears directly identified several times within the text, making this of interest to those who wish to see how she moves in the lives of others.

My own entry, ‘At the Crossroads of Eternity’,  details my first encounter with Lucifer and the ignition of the flame within my blood. It begins with an explanation as to how Lucifer was the one who brought me into contact with Hecate, and how this allowed for the integration of polar opposites which spurred my spiritual development. From there, the entry goes on to deal with gnosis concerning the development of the animus and anima, as a direct spiritual experience to be assimilated. A heavy emphasis on genuine spiritual contact, rather than becoming lost in dry political or philosophical discourse is given.

Looking back at this entry, I feel it is of particular interest given my work in the past year. Considering that the text was written before the work of the familiars was begun in earnest, it can be seen as a precursor to the familial work which saw this being put into practical action.

Although not something I wish to dwell on, I feel the book also gives myriad voices of men in the modern pagan movement a platform to be heard freely as a force in themselves. It is important to demonstrate that everyone is equal  in the eyes of the Gods, and that at the end of the day it is how we approach the work with them that matters. This transcends small minded human prejudices, regardless of where those happen to fall on the spectrum of ignorance. It is is also worth noting that those who try to close off a door on the road to their development will only find that they have to open it and face those challenges further down the line.

I will be making the entry public a year from now on my blog, as allowed by the contract. However I thoroughly recommend that those who aren’t put off by tones of gender politics  to pick the book up. I only add the caveat that due to the nature of the work, each author speaks for themselves, and as a matter of course do not necessarily reflect my own views.  I believe that at its core however it shows powerfully how her lunar current can change lives in whatever form and method she decides to manifest. Hopefully you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed contributing!

The book can be purchased from Immanion Press (technically their non fiction wing, Megalithica Books) from here, and is currently retailing at £11.99.

Ave Hecate,

Opening the Gates to the Stellar Path

Posted in Occultism, The Path of Flames, Traditional Witchcraft with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on February 7, 2016 by Sypheara

The last month or two has been a pretty difficult and busy time! But after both failures of the biological and technological kind, I am back up and running in some capacity.

I have been in the main, focusing on important private rituals as well as assisting those who have gotten in contact with me in regards to specific guidance on this path. December saw me receiving and consecrating a very powerful tool. It is pictured below, in its raw unactivated form

The Obsidian Orb, before its consecration and activation

This tool, a large obsidian sphere, has vastly exceeded my expectation. Consecrated as Hecates perfect stellar eye whilst in possession, the obsidian has proved to be a perfect and potent medium for channelling her energies directly through it. It is now used in almost every rite which involves circle and divination work, and played a pivotal role in a group ritual I ran in December. This ritual centred around a witch god known as the Lord of the Dark Star, a very powerful and very ancient being who acts as amongst other things, the guardian to Hecates throne. This was a very intense ritual, more so than initially planned, and it drew some interesting entities to the circles edge. This manifested in tangible, and slightly violent, physical phenomena as the sheer energy drew alot of attention from the local spirits of the place. It was exhilarating to run and invoke him for his guidance and protection.

This ritual made use of one of two formulas given to me by Hecate, this one being a specific vibration that channels both the stellar currents firstly of her, and then of Lucifer. This call rapidly raised the energy in the circle beyond again what was expected. I spent the rest of the month getting observations from this typed up as well as the gnosis received distributed to those who had taken part. It was made clear to me unfortunately this could not be distributed on the blog. However I say those of you who want to work with this entity, I approached him via Hecate and advise if others are interested, that the do the same in their practice. He can be a very remote and challenging entity that should be sought through her. Invoking him through obsidian consecrated in her name within the activated circle with Hecate invoked, utilising blood, seems to be a valid approach. He is of major importance on the stellar path and I expect this is only the first of such powerful works.

On the left, an optical image from the Digitized Sky Survey shows Cygnus X-1, outlined in a red box. Cygnus X-1 is located near large active regions of star formation in the Milky Way, as seen in this image that spans some 700 light years across. An artist's illustration on the right depicts what astronomers think is happening within the Cygnus X-1 system. Cygnus X-1 is a so-called stellar-mass black hole, a class of black holes that comes from the collapse of a massive star. New studies with data from Chandra and several other telescopes have determined the black hole's spin, mass, and distance with unprecedented accuracy.

Outside of this I have finally received the package I have been waiting for to start on the next part of the work. This package contains three birch endgrain woodblocks, which will be the perfect physical medium with which to create the Stellar Gates. Each stellar gate will be created in turn, complimenting the initial gate sigil given through the performance of the initiation within the Temple of the Four Pillars of Fire. It was on my visit here I saw first-hand the importance of creating physical gateways in this manner, as up until this time I had not used wood in the construction of gates.

The initial gate therefore, on my return to my own indoor working space, was created out of similar wood and activated as directed by Belial and the Gates ruling entity. Its surface was marked with the four words of power given by its guardian, the Ivory Spider, as well as his sigil and that of the gate sigil itself. It proved to be once activated, incredibly powerful, as detailed in earlier postings. What follows is a brief description of it’s creation.

I’ll mention firstly that I am no professional engraver nor could I be considered artistically inclined, working entirely within a technical field. However the following has proven to work, if to be a bit of an unforgiving process. I am sure there are many improvements that could be made by those who possess greater artistic skill in this area.

The actual creation of the gates can only be be started when the gnosis for them is delivered by it’s specific patron. Once this has occurred, it’s actual physical creation can be started. It is a process which can be both laborious, and difficult. Once begun care must be taken as even one small mistake can mean the entire process must be restarted.

The wood itself is the first major consideration – gates of this power cannot be constructed in the usual manner using paper or parchment. Instead they must be constructed on a much more potent material such as wood, stone or in some cases bone and flesh. This is foremost to be remembered – they will NOT be correctly or sufficiently opened if carved or marked on poor or unsuitable material unable to unlock their vast energies. Leave any preconceptions of relying solely on magical ‘will’ behind you and acquire the necessary material. Any other approach will serve you poorly in their creation. My affinity for birch and my working with the general and specific familiars of this tree lent itself through intuition to being the wood I eventually used.

The second is the marking of each, individual sigil or seal upon the woods surface. For this I simply mark each sigil first using a pencil and then use a simple array of small chisels to first mark, deepen and then smooth each line. I then get rid of the left over wood shavings ensuring a clean surface, and then fill each and every line with consecrated, artists ink to permanently mark each and every line of each sigil. This is done simply using a dip pen, using an old and broken nib as the process can damage them easily. This part requires caution as a single big mistake can ruin an entire woodblock and thus hours of work. Once applied the ink will spread through the lines and give it a strong definition. It is not difficult for this to be done quite accurately as long as time and care is taken, and the process is not rushed. Rushing the process just lengthens the entire procedure, as mistakes are made and resources wasted. Note the use of specific magickal inks have merit here, if directed to be used.

The third is its full activation. Once the ink has dried, the entire completed stele is passed through heavy sandalwood smoke or other appropriate incense smoke to cleanse and empower it. Exhaled breath after holding a shot of an alcoholic spirit  in the mouth heightens this further. Once thus prepared, the gate is activated in the cast circle via direct instructions given by the Gods either at that time, or at the time the knowledge of the sigil was originally given. Up to now has involved libating each line of the sigil in blood, empowering the stele at the relevant quarter or multiple quarters of the circle,  and then sealing this in sexual magickal communion with the patron of the gate. However the process for each gate can be unique once constructed and should be explored further at an individual level with the gates specific ruling patron.

It is in this way I will be constructing all the necessary stellar gates over the next few months. Each one will be worked with and explored on an individual basis as well as grouped together.  I am also likely to be creating a full evocation triangle for use within this work. This evocation triangle will initially be used in rituals with Lucifer, and will also be made out of wood. It will be used to ask for his guidance, advice, and relevant primary key for use upon this specific path.

Hopefully this has been of help to those who want a bit more insight into this process. I thoroughly recommend this approach to be considered when a permanent gate needs creating. I hope Imbolc was a good sabbat for everyone and can definitely say that there is an interesting journey ahead!
